If you are here, it’s probably because you want to be successful or you’re trying to get your life together. But as it is with most of us today, our backgrounds are always an obstacle. Well, I’m here to show you otherwise. The world we live in is not fair but that’s a fact we can’t change. However, keep on reading and I’ll show you what you can do to change your life.
The Living Football Legend Of Our Time
In a bit, I’ll show you how to deal with your past. Let me tell you a story of one of the greatest legends in our world today – Cristiano Ronaldo. If you’re a football fan then his story is simply one that you’re probably living up to. However, if you’ve got very little experience in the football world then let me indulge you a little.
Cristiano Ronaldo was bullied extremely when he was young due to his ascent (I’m sure non-native English speakers can relate or if you have a friend with a different ascent). That didn’t stop him from being one of the football legends today.
The beauty of this story is Ronaldo realized his talent while he was really young and decided to pursue it. He dropped out of school to pursue his football career and ended up breaking most records in the football arena. Let’s say for instance he chose to continue studying and never followed his heart? My guess is he would be in an office working for a rude boss, wishing he made a different choice.
What I learned from his life history is that it’s not easy trying to make it in life especially when coming from a financially struggling family. All in all, with a little dedication and putting your heart in the right place, you’ll get there soon enough. So why do we struggle so much?
Reasons Why It’s So Hard To Overcome Our Childhood Struggles
1. The Emotions Might Be Buried Away
Burying your feelings away will always cause more harm than good. But most kids will always bury their feeling especially when caring becomes too dangerous. It will not only damage the kid’s healthy relationship but also ruin any attempts of healing.
2. Overcoming Your Childhood Struggles Means Remembering Everything Again
It gets hard when you are trying to remember your childhood experience to get some kind of closure. The source of the pain becomes even harder to eliminate. That’s makes it more difficult to overcome your childhood experiences. Therefore, you need to find a way to deal with your past and also remember everything. It’s not easy but it will help you move on with your life.
3. So How Do I Move From a Hard Childhood To Getting My Life Together?
Our past experience is meant to fuel us into our future. But not to tie us down in a loop of remembering the painful experiences. Personally, my childhood was not that great. I love my parents and they tried their best to give me a quality education.
Unfortunately, money was very scarce and we learned to live with what was available. I remember one day going to school with my mom’s boots since it was winter time (they sort of looked like a man’s boots).
My entire class plus any kid I ran into laughed at my boots. The whole day I was so sad but coming to think of it, that was the only pair of boots we owned. More importantly, my mom was only trying to show me, love. But this is what made me the kind of man I am today.
I remember crying and thinking that one day I’d love my kids to have the toys and clothes that I never hard. So at the age of 17, I decided to study hard and make sure that I have the life I wanted. Now, I’m living the type of life I dreamed about or used to see in the magazines.
I’m sure that’s not the worst story you’ve ever heard but it’s what inspired me my entire life. Here are some of the tips I picked up that can make you have a more prosperous life no matter your background;
1. Work With Passion
The only reason I studied so hard is because I had a passion to be successful. The vision of a better future made me understand and master everything I read. I was also quite imaginative. I could see that fancy car, amazing house and a happy family with every page I read. The more I studied, the more this vision became clearer.
Look for something that you are passionate about. Work towards it and don’t fear anything anyone tells you. It’s okay not to follow the normal education system we have in our society today. Take, for example, Cristiano Ronaldo. He knew he had a passion for football and followed it.
2. Don’t Concentrate On Your Past. Work To Your Future
Don’t always go to the corner of your bed and cry your heart out. It is okay and actually a good way to relieve the pain. But wake up and make a difference.in your life. Time wasted (in your case time spend while feeling pity for yourself) is never recovered. Make the bold move and I hope to see you on the road in a Bentley with a smile on your face.
3. Be Innovative
Don’t follow other people’s footstep. Jeff Bezos (Amazon CEO) had a great job that was well paying and gave him a stable livelihood. But he went to his boss and told him he wants to quit the job and start selling books online. The guy literally laughed out aloud and took him for a walk.
Through that time, he talked to Jeff and told him to think about what he was doing. But innovation is better than working for someone and today, he’s ranked among the richest people on the planet.
Put your mind into making something that can shape the future of our world. In his words, the Internet is almost the gold mine of our time. It connects different people from all nations. Point yourself in the right direction and don’t stop. More to that, never look back.
I hope the above ideas will give you a better understanding of our world today. Don’t just work hard, work smart. Who knows? You might be the Cristiano Ronaldo or Jeff Bezos of tomorrow.
