Don’t Set Limits On Your Unlimited Potential
Every day there’s always something new that you have to deal with. For instance, you are probably wondering where you will get the money to sort a certain bill or simply where to get the capital for that new venture. I’m sure this is one thing that’s completely stressing you out at the moment.
Well, I’m here to tell you that everything will be OKAY. Nothing comes easy but that doesn’t mean you always have to go through hard times. Some days will be easier than others. The only thing that should remain constant is your courage to deal with your issues.
One of the most popular messages that you can easily get from the Bible is that ‘With God all things are possible’. We can all relate to this in one way or another. These words have got me through the toughest situations in my entire life.
With every challenge in my life, I came to realize that the biggest difference I had was how big or small I imagined the obstacle is. In cases where I saw my problem as a small issue, I was able to sort it out with ease. But when I over exaggerated my issues, they got even harder to overcome. That’s actually the same case that happened to David in the Bible.
David: The King Of Courage
What were you doing when you were young? Probably playing the latest version of a PlayStation and taking a stroll with your friends around the neighborhood. David was a young lad with able big brothers. He was always the last choice when it came to choosing the best person for battle. But for some reason, God chose him and made him one of the most known people in the Bible.
David had three brothers who were in the army and his father sent him to deliver provisions then head back home (1 Samuel 17:10, 17-19). Like an obedient child, David did not hesitate. Besides, he was curious to see what was happening on the battlefield.
Little did he know that he was going to perform an act of bravery that will be echoed for generations to come.
How Often Are You Told That You Are Not Able?
In every step of the way, you will always have someone who doesn’t believe in your capabilities. That’s either because of your body size, experience or even financial situation. But that shouldn’t put you down.
The worst part is when you start doubting your own capabilities. With everyone doubting your capabilities, you cannot afford to doubt yourself too. But I don’t blame you. In some instances, when there’s too much hate around you, it can end up consuming your will to keep on pushing.
So first things first, ensure you are in the right company of friends. The next thing, learn from David. As much as he was a young boy, he has so much to teach us. When King Saul saw David, he started off by telling David the reasons why he cannot slay Goliath the Giant.
Goliath was a glorified warrior while on the other hand, David was a young shepherd. David in the eyes of King Saul didn’t know anything about battle. That did not stop David. He explained to King Saul that he will slay the giant who was insulting the army of the Lord.
Identify Your Goliaths
Start by identifying your obstacles. These are the goliaths of your life and they will keep haunting you until you deal with them. They can either be that conversation that you are avoiding to have or a business plan that you are afraid of implementing. If you identify the problem, then you will be able to understand what you are dealing with.
Next, remember that God is always on your side no matter what. Just like David, everyone didn’t believe that he could actually slay the giant. But once he was given the chance, he was able to take down an obstacle in their life.
Even when Saul and David’s brothers didn’t believe in him, he took his time to explain to them that he is the best candidate. With confidence in the Lord, David took to the battlefield and faced the big giant.
Let’s put it in a more literal situation. Would you even come face to face with someone like LeBron James or Kobe Bryant if you are 5 foot or less? Trust me the mere sight of these basketballers will send quivers down your spine. Now imagine if you were a teenager and were to face them? That shows great strength in character and courage.
Trust In Yourself And Trust In God
The best way to gain the courage you need is to trust in yourself. Courage and self-confidence go hand in hand. You need to start believing that you can make better life choices. What’s more, you need to believe in what you are about to do and that it will succeed.
Most importantly, remember that God is always on your side. He will never abandon you and you should trust that. Build your courage and confidence and you will have the strength to keep working for a better future. If David did not believe in himself and God, he wouldn’t have slain the giant and saved the people who were about to battle Goliath.
Build Your Inner Self
I don’t know about you but I find success as a reflection of your inner character. That said, you need to build yourself from the inside out. Have you ever gotten the chance to mingle with successful people? Well, trust me, your entire perspective about life will change.
Therefore, understand what keeps you going and what drives the courage and strength from inside you. I get the courage and strength to keep going from the people around me. When I realize that I have positively impacted someone’s life, then that gives me the courage to continue doing what I’m doing.
Well, there you have it! Even if you are not so much of a believer, there’s definitely something that you can learn from this story. Let me know what gives you the courage to pursue your dreams on the comment section below. Stay tuned for more inspiring articles.
