Become Successful Now

Time for Change: Become Successful Now!

I’m no stranger to getting stuck when trying out something new. I’ve had my fair share of hustles and went to extreme strain just to get ahead in life. In a world of over millions of people, we’re bound to meet obstacles trying to be successful. That is why people of all ages are always on the lookout for a success formula. If you’ve been asking for one, then I’ll let you know about it in a few. Stick around and you’ll soon find out.

Is there a way to be successful?

If you are constantly asking yourself this question, the answer is definitely yes. For you to get to that level you want, there are a few rules you might need to change. This isn’t rocket science or that calculus class you always dread like a plaque. On the contrary, success is all about your attitude.

“Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.” – Winston Churchill

You’ve probably heard this a couple of times and you probably think all this is cliché but trust me when I say, it actually works wonders.

The other thing you need to know is that success and laziness will never mix. Like I said. It’s not rocket science. It’s as easy as getting to wake early in the morning, saving a few bucks on the side, finding a new business to venture in, then repeat. However, for all this to become a success, you will require you to shake off that laziness.

Do you want to be like that super successful guy you see in your life? Then, listen up!

In the few years, I’ve spent on this earth, I’ve come across very great people. From CEOs who run their own businesses to other wonderful motivational top dogs in this pyramid of success. Some of the attributes they all have in common are; they all love to move on, they love speed, they hate waiting and most definitely they are never lazy.

Can we learn from their character? absolutely.

Let’s start with a few baby steps. If you really want to be successful in your life: Open a business. The next thing is to start working for a large and amazing company like Google, Amazon or Microsoft.

If your career doesn’t fit in such companies, I’m sure there are a few companies that top the charts in your path. Get into such companies and learn how they operate. More importantly, find something that they lack and might desperately need even if they don’t know it yet. There are nitty-gritty details that big companies tend to overlook but as an employee, you will get a clear picture. Yours is to find a way to fill this gap.

There’s always something lacking in the world. You simply need the right set of eyes and discipline to get this.

For this strategy to work you have to switch your life to superhero mode only for some time. What do I mean by super mode? Well, check down below. Here is a list of other things you need to put into consideration;

1. Work harder

You have to embrace the fact that nothing comes easy. Every single step requires you to take things to go that extra mile. As humans, our bodies are set on default laziness. Meaning your body will instantly fall to sleep with every time you are idle. Not unless you train yourself to work hard.

To keep you going and reduce the boredom that comes with repeating the same thing, make sure you work every day in a more effective way than yesterday. More importantly, you also need rest once in a while.

Therefore, make sure you have time to relax but stay focused on your goals. Make sure you work hard and smart. To be clear, you might put in a lot of your time and effort to something that’s not worth your time if you are not careful enough.

“If something is important enough, whether or not the odds are against you, you will always find a way to work through it” – Elon Musk, one of the most successful people in our world today shared some of his personal experiences.

From PayPal to SpaceX and then eventually to Tesla. Elon Musk is on the verge of becoming a legend. Even though your dream might not be to take a trip and maybe colonize Mars, you owe it to yourself to become successful.

His footprints have already made such a big impact on our daily lives that we’d be fools not to listen to him. Let this be a motivation for you to keep going. That is why, throughout this article, I will quote some of his great words to emphasize on a few key points. Shall we continue?

2. Set goals and expectations

Setting goals might actually help more than you think. You need to take some time when constructing your goals. Until you set your goals you will not be able to reach them. You need to have a clear master plan on a paper (old school but actually gets the job done). You can also use sticky notes and place your goals in place you’ll get to see every morning as you head to work.

That way you will know why you need to be strong and work your **s off the entire day. For instance, you can include, by this date I want to finish this in your paper. Call it your bucket list. “People work better when they know what the goal is and why” words from Elon Musk.

Let’s use a case study to sink this idea in. You’ve been waiting all year round for the release of that latest iPhone. Then, fortunately, it comes on sale within the week. The first thing that will pop into your mind is how to get the cash to buy it.

If you had a set of goals last year to save up as much cash as possible, then that would have never been a problem. One year is more than enough time to make that money with a set of goals and a work plan.

Get this, nothing is beyond your reach if you set your mind into it. The other thing is having a possible outcome of your goals. These are what you will brand as expectations. You need to know what you will get if you put your effort into completing this task. Otherwise, why should you have goals without knowing the expectations?

3. Take a hold of your failures

We didn’t get to the point we are without failures and bumpy roads. The only major thing is how we reframe our failures. Most times, we often concentrate on the end of success. More often than not, we tend to overlook the setbacks we encountered to get to where we are.

You need to know that you cannot succeed without failures. The only way to get from one point to another is by trying. And that means you will land into a pothole once in a while.

However, how you handle your failures will dictate your entire road ahead. Remember “failure is not an option, if things are not failing, you are probably not innovating enough”. So if you have a goal that is too risky but you’re afraid you might fail, then take the leap and try. Try it to your level best and if you fail try again but this time make sure you do not fail due to the same reason.

4. Superman mode

I’m not talking about the ‘kryptonite and Superman’ here but a better and more realistic version of him. Modern cars would usually offer few modes of driving: eco, standard, and Sport.

I for one love driving in sport mode. That’s because the car feels more responsive compared to the other modes. More to that, I can take corners faster. Behind the wheel, I’m able to maneuver through those tight bends like a hot knife through butter. But don’t let that fool you. I’m a very careful driver.

Using this mode saves me time and I’m able to meet deadlines. The best part is that I never show up at meetings late. You should learn how to save your time.

Keep in mind, if you live this life like everybody – you will probably achieve the same result in life like everybody else.

Seems fair right? Another example, for you to secure a place in either Harvard or Stanford, you will have to work extra hard first. That’s just the initial stage.

The next part is that you still need to get that degree or diploma at the end of your academic years in these great universities. The sad truth is; not everyone gets the chance to finish such wonderful schools.

For what reason? They couldn’t work hard enough or simply decided to relax. One thing that bugs me is; why go through all the trouble of working hard, secure a spot in a life-changing university, only to ending up failing to complete your studies for no good reason. If you get a business venture that might earn millions, I can’t complain. But what if you simply didn’t complete your studies just because of partying all semester and not attending classes? I lack words for you.

All in all, it’s never too late to get a grip on your life. Studies typically enlighten your brain. You get the chance to open your mind to new possibilities. For a child to even learn how to speak, he or she needs to listen to other people speak. Therefore, for you to start opening your mind to thinking about new ideas, you need to learn what others have been doing over the years. To top it all up, take a mentor and listen to how he got to where he is today.

Elon Musk was born in South Africa and by the age of 12, he was already selling his first computer game. After a few years of hard work and determination, he went on to be a co-founder of some of the greatest companies today. That’s a live example of someone who had a dream and was not too afraid to follow it no matter how big it was. That’s a risk taker showing how best to tackle your dreams and work on them.

Therefore, no matter how big your dreams are, do not be afraid to pursue them. You never know. You might actually be our next big name.

5. Free time

‘Work without play makes jack a dull boy’ is a phrase we’ve all grown to here and we rarely implement it.

With the ever growing economy, it’s easy to forget that you’re not a robot. Even robots actually need time to recharge and your body is no exception. The only difference is the charge in your body runs low more often than you think. That is why, rest and some relaxation time will go a long way to making your days brighter.

It’s essential to find time for relaxation. Robots can be productive 24/7 but we humans need time when we can simply relax. Find an activity you love and do it. Those off days are not there only for show. Utilize every minute. You don’t need to go on those fancy ‘vacay’ to have fun and relax. You can visit a museum, new restaurant or new city with your friends (split the bills obviously). This will help you stay happy.

I personally love visiting the gym. Listening to great music while working out gives me the right recharge I need to stay happy and refreshed for the next day. What’s your happy moment? What do you do to relax your mind?

6. Love what you do

There’s something about loving your work that always drives you to be more productive and actually achieving more than you can imagine. A great number of people are doing jobs they don’t like for bosses they can’t tolerate at all.

That makes it impossible to look forward to going to work every day. Simply because they lack any other option. Look around you! Do you know how many possibilities are waiting for you? A failure is also an option. Don’t be afraid of it. Doing something that’s not your passion will never get you to the place you need. Therefore, you will need to find an alternative.

Before you quit your job, you should also note that “it’s okay to have all your eggs in one basket as long as you have control of the entire basket”. So, if you are planning to leave your job, you should know what you are going to do. Start it while still in the same job and when all things take the right course, you can now quit.

If you put the tips above into your daily routine, you will find your path and hopefully, I will write about your success story in the future.

Don’t stop dreaming. Only make sure that your dreams are not just ideas in your mind. For your ideas to become real dreams and success stories, you need to work on them.

  1. Phenomenal post! So motivational! Speaking the truth speaks volumes and it’s much appreciated. We often wait too long to do something that’s been on our minds. And that’s the difference between someone whom is successful and someone who’s not. If you don’t do it, someone else will. I’m completely out of my comfort zone since starting my YouTube channel not too long ago. I’m no professional but I do have a passion for art and doing nails. So I thought, let’s record it, and let’s put it on YouTube! So I did it! What do I have to lose?! Nothing. And if you fail, at least you tried. ???

      • You’re welcome! I also think some one is need more of a push than others. Others are self motivators and go-getters, while others are more reserved and timid – especially when it comes to business. Your post is an eye opener. We’re all different but when it comes to chasing our dreams, we should just do it! I like to think, that it’s not good to wait on things, to think about things for too long, you get lazy and start doubting yourself – no bueno! ?

        • I so much agree with you Ana, some of us are instinctively more pro active then others, but with a right advice and motivation each of us can do such a wonderful things! We all need a right momentum going 🙂

          • Yes, that’s very true. If we’re not natural go getters, we need the motivation to get things done. Also, surround yourself with positive people, they’ll encourage you to climb higher. As I heard Steve Harvey once say, surround yourself with broke people, and you’ll be the next one.
